Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for Log Yard Craftsperson Level 1 position with potential to grow into the Log Yard Craftsperson Level 2 position for our lumber manufacturing facility located in Holden, LA. This operational role is key in safely ensuring the effective and efficient intake of logs into our state-of-the-art sawmill resulting in the manufacturing of quality lumber that will be shipped to our customers.

Key Functions:

• Safely and effectively perform tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Safely and effectively maintain housekeeping that will include cleaning debris from equipment, shoveling sawdust and any other housekeeping duties assigned.
• Safely and effectively operate machine centers as assigned in the saw mill at production levels.
• Monitors flow of material to and from the machine center and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure production quality and quantity standards are met.
• Coordinates the flow of production and helps where needed.
• May support maintenance team members with troubleshooting and repairs as necessary
• Identifies and helps resolve other production flow problems.
• Assists in maintaining housekeeping standards
• May flow to work at machine centers where qualified to do so
• Relieve all workstations (includes any shift) and perform at production rates within the department.
• Perform quality control checks.
• Provide leadership within the work team

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Due to the requirements of this role, a structured assessment process will be used.
• Ability to work safely and practice all company safety policies and procedures.
• Able to perform the Operator Driven Reliability functions of the job position.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good hand/eye coordination.
• Able to judge length and width at a distance.

• Able to perform all essential job functions, lifting 2-20 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climbing steps/ladders, work from heights and in tight/awkward places/positions; on aerial platforms/ in manlifts at all heights, while wearing safety equipment and standing or walking for up to 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures, dusty and noisy conditions.
• Able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime as needed to accomplish objectives
• Solid computer skills, SAP knowledge an asset.
• Relieve all workstations (includes any shift) and perform at production rates within the department once certification is achieved
• Coordinate the flow of production and help where needed.
• Perform quality control checks.
• Provide leadership within the work team.
